Sample

A simple playable audio-file source that pitches one imported sample across the keyboard.

Detailed explanation
A simple playable audio-file source that pitches one imported sample across the keyboard.

Use Sample when you want to play a single imported sound chromatically from the keyboard, inline piano, MIDI controller, or sequencer. The original sample plays at normal speed around A4, then follows the notes you trigger.

To use it, add Sample to the graph, choose an audio file, connect its output to a processor or Output, select the node, then play notes. Use Octave, Semitone, and Cents to tune the file before building the rest of the patch.

Chosen files stay attached to the node while you work. Save the workflow to keep the sound available with that patch on your account.

Reverse flips playback direction. 5 ms fades softens the start and end of the sound. Play full lets the sample keep playing after you release the note; turn it off when you want the note release to stop the sample.

What to know
  • Imports one audio file and plays it as a pitched source.
  • Octave, semitone, and cents make quick tuning practical.
  • Reverse, short fades, and full-playback mode cover common sampler behavior.
  • Supports envelope, chord/arpeggiator, and LFO-style modulation inputs.
