Limiter
A fast protection-style dynamics node focused on threshold, attack, and gain ceiling.
Use the Limiter node near the end of the chain when you want a safety stage for hot patches or drums. It is more direct than the compressor and focuses on keeping levels under control.
To use it, place Limiter before Output, set the Gain Limit or threshold conservatively, then raise source levels only while watching the VU Meter or listening for overload.
This is especially useful when experimenting with distortion, FM, or aggressive drum programming that can create sudden peaks.
- • A practical end-of-chain safety node.
- • Fewer controls than the compressor for faster setup.
- • Helpful before the final output when experimenting with loud patches.
Gain Limit
Set the effective output ceiling.
Threshold
Choose where limiting begins to react.
Attack
Control how quickly the limiter clamps down on peaks.
